Western Sydney Industry Awards
After 10 successful years, it has been decided that the Western Sydney Industry Awards have met their objectives and will now conclude.
The Western Sydney Industry Awards leave a legacy of pride and accomplishment for the many companies and all of the individuals and entities that have been involved with the program.
The Awards were established at a time when the region was emerging as an attractive option for business investment. They were designed to highlight business excellence in a region of growing economic prominence and to promote its extraordinary diversity of industry.
The Western Sydney Industry Awards have achieved these aims in full measure. A decade after the Awards’ inception, Greater Western Sydney is recognised as one of Australia’s most prominent commercial and industrial hubs. The achievements and success of Western Sydney's business sector, highlighted by the Awards, has been a significant contributor to the region's position and enviable reputation.
An extensive series of business award programs also now exist locally and at a State and national level. It is therefore time to support and celebrate Western Sydney’s success through these forums.
Awards partner, the Greater Western Sydney Economic Development Board, is itself undergoing major change. The State-funded Board will be merged with the Commonwealth Government’s Area Consultative Committees, forming a new joint State-Federal regional development network to drive jobs in regional areas.
The Western Sydney Industry Awards’ other partner, the NSW Department of State and Regional Development, will continue to support the region’s businesses through its many programs including Western Sydney Manufacturing Week.
Special thanks to the Judges who generously provided their expertise and advice, and all the many Sponsors who have repeatedly underwritten the success of the Western Sydney Industry Awards program.
