Welcome to the Office of the Minister for Western Sydney

The Office of the Minister for Western Sydney reports to the Hon. David Borger MP who is the NSW Government's advocate for one of Australia's fastest growing regions.

The Minister speaks up for the region in Cabinet to address issues and provide the Western Sydney community with a stronger voice throughout Government.

Western Sydney encompasses 14 Local Government Areas and is home to more than 1.8 million people. The population is expected to increase to around 2.5 million by 2031.

The NSW Government established the Office of the Minister for Western Sydney in January 1998. It operates within the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet as part of the Regional Coordination Program.

The Office provides the Minister with greater knowledge of activities and emerging issues in Western Sydney.
